The Figureheads of Dayton

Original American music in the folk, blues and rock traditions. The Figureheads of Dayton is a continuation of the 45-year musical collaboration between Jim Dwyer, Joe Tuss and Dick Roll. Over those 45 years, they have been the core members of the Slugs, the Riverdale Rats, and the Jaywalkers. They are joined in the Figureheads of Dayton by longtime friend and drummer, Doug Buchanan, and the Umbrella Men/Catsteel, Danny and David Tuss. The band plays original songs co-written by Jim Dwyer and Joe Tuss that are rooted in the traditions of American folk, blues and rock. Jim's lyrics are unique observations on life, love and the human condition, with a keen eye on the ridiculous, immaculate and contrary world we live in. The band translates the mood and feeling of those lyrics into music that is familiar, and at the same time new and different.
